When: Thursday 20th December 6 – 8pm
Where: Berry Yoga Shala
Soma Yoga is a graceful weaving of yoga asana, pranayama, mudra and visualization, inspired by what yogic mystics refer to as ‘The Elixir of Life’. It is a deeply nourishing and harmonizing practice that is gently healing for the endocrine and nervous systems and leaves one feeling balanced, rejuvenated and glowing.
Derived from the root « su » in Sanskrit, meaning to « energize, stimulate, expand and grow », Soma is conceived of as a downward flow of grace, wisdom and healing affiliated with moonlight and water. It is an alchemical force that combines with « Agni », or fire, to create dynamic balance and inner radiance.
For this special masterclass, held on the Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year) we will be invoking both the moonlight of Soma and the sunlight of Agni. We will be inviting spaciousness, gratitude, integration and ease.
Alexandra’s wish is that this practice sets you in perfect stead for the holiday season and the end of the year, inducing a natural expansion of being and an inner fulfillment.
Alexandra is a dancer, yogini, mama and wife who has dedicated her path to the practice and embodiment of Yoga, well beyond the execution of postures on a mat.
Though the grace and beauty of embodied prayer through asana is indeed a fundamental part of her path, for her, Yoga must eventually filter into each and every aspect of our lives, from the way we take care of ourselves on a day to day basis, to the way we communicate with others and make important choices and decisions in life.
Alexandra teaches Soma Yoga, Shadow Yoga and Ten Moon Yoga in Switzerland an co-hosts retreats in both Europe and Australia.
